I just bought CM5 laptop. and it came with this 1TB NVMe SSD.S__23461896_0.jpg
      S__23461894_0.jpg S__23461897_0.jpg .

I plugged it to the laptop. it's not shown in the Disks App that's understandable b/c it's a brand new. So, I followed a lot of instructions on how to formatted it.
(I dont know how to get to CM5 laptop BIOS/UEFI to enable AHCI mode)
most of the command result like there is no NVMe plugged.

So I used "dmesg | grep -i pci" to get error related to PCI and got this.

        1. Confirm that SSD supports NVME protocol, SATA machines cannot support it
        2. ls /dev confirm if any nvme devices have been found
        3. Use commands to format the hard drive
        sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/nvme0*

Confirm the specific model of this chip and send it out for me to check the specification sheet.

As shown in the figure below, this control chip only supports the SATA3.0 protocol.
