Ensure that the LCD is an EDP interface and the touch is an IIC interface. In principle, it can light up normally, but the driver part needs to be modified. Check if there are any universal specifications later.

The currently debugged LCD models are shown in the attachment. The github code has been supported by default. The replacement steps are as follows:

Replace the LCD screen with a touchscreen model Replace the ribbon cable It is necessary to add a touch screen level conversion board

@anernest said in HDMI Port Disconnected:

@george Please help me out here. The HDMI port only seems to drive small portable monitors. It does not recognize the Dell P27815Q 27inch monitors or the Samsung 50inch TV when I plug them in. This makes the laptop virtually useless to me if I cannot use it to drive HDMI monitors while traveling in meeting rooms. If I cannot get this resolved, I will need to return it and get my money back.

Just wanted to set the record straight regarding the Cool-Pi team's responsiveness. @george had immediately answered me in another thread (Laptop USB-C Alt Mode). My bad for creating multiple threads on the same topic and not checking them all.

Refer to the following document to provide EDID information and demesg information for inserting and removing HDMI.
      https://www.cool-pi.com/topic/296/how-to-drive-non-standard-resolution-hdmi-displays?_=1701475254750

When I plug a desktop monitor in, the edid.bin file is empty and the monitor continues to act as if it has not been plugged in. So I plugged the portable monitor in, and the edid.bin remained empty, even though the monitor woke up and displayed the desktop. Below is the dmesg output from the time I plugged the portable monitor in (I imagine the same i2c read error would be happening with the desktop monitor): [55894.022488] rockchip-vop2 fdd90000.vop: [drm:vop2_crtc_atomic_disable] Crtc atomic disable vp0 [55922.073783] dwhdmi-rockchip fde80000.hdmi: i2c read err! @george One strong reason for considering this is that EU requires, or will require, all laptops sold new here to support powering from USB-C. (It is an effort to reduce the number of incompatible power connectors and associated waste and headache for consumers).
